I title today's blog as "The Goal" because of a Sermon I heard last night that really changed the way I think about a lot of things. In John McArthur's sermon, he talks about the goal of a Christian in life, is pursuing Christ-Likeness. What that means, is that we are to be like Christ, and through out our lives, we are to make that likeness grow. Why it has impacted me, is because growing with Christ, creates many aspects to develop, such as evangelism and relationships. It answers the question about how to stop certain things, like temptation, sin, and trials. Being more Christ-like, allows us to be able to deal with certain things such as trials and temptation, as well as work on certain things, like what to say, being evangelistic, and what not. I feel that striving to be more Christ-like will help me grow in so many ways, and allow me to cope with problems i have better, as well as learn new ways to help people know Jesus. I wanted to share this, because it really helps me see why trusting in God is so important.
Before this serman, Josh Bayless and I skated Four Seasons, had a blast, got some footage, and now I made an edit, so here it is!
Well, I'm not sure if I made a post about this or not, but about a month ago, I had to pack some things for a bit of confidential reasons, but one thing I packed was my camera lens in a folded t-shirt. A month or so later, after I thought I had lost it, I opened my dresser, grabbed a shirt, unfolded it, and there it was! I was so stoked! Edits can be made again, so expect some soon!
I did make a new edit already however. This is the last little bit of street footage I had from 2009, so I decided to use it. It's got Thomas Bato, Vince Stranc, Noah Staller, Mike Bahr, and Kyle Seppala in it!
I will keep you posted on the camera situation. Something fell through, and we are taking a gander at something else!
Well, I have realized that I have been so focused on myself, that it has made me unhappy. I need to start remembering to go about my life as if I was working for God, which is sometimes hard to do.
I may be getting a camera from one of my super good friends, Peter. (www.petermader.blogspot.com) So I will have the ability to take more pictures for fun! I cannot wait! It's going to be great!
This post is kind of pointless, but I try to do one every day, so i will post a few random pictures I found on my computer.
Kyle Seppala on a daily basis.
I basically ran out of gas as i pulled into a parking spot for the skate shop. Brian and Alex happened to get free soda from the pool for helping them, and they were generous enough to sell some for gas. They made 15 bucks I think!
And lastly, Mike Bahr was watching for people while trying to bigflip the big 2 at cream city skatepark (www.creamcityskatepark.com), which he successfully landed, but I thought this was a funny screen grab. Mike Bahr - Muggin.
I have not been keeping this posted. Not at all. haha. Life has been so busy for me. I suppose I should fill you in on what has been going on.
The skateshop that has made me realize so many different aspects in my life, Wreckless Skateshop, shut down after Christmas because they didn't get enough sales to stay open. It bummed me out for awhile, and it also took away my job. Thankfully I was able to get another job before the shop shut down. Now I work at Cousins subs, which isn't my ideal job, but atleast I have a job. It's overwhelming right now, since i'm training in a fast paced atmosphere, but I'm sure it will become easier. I have been on Holiday break from school as well. I start my second semester the 18th of this month. I can't wait for the fresh start. It's going to be great. Other than that, I have been just trying to stay focused!
I'm thinking of starting up photography again. I don't have an amazing camera, but maybe someday. We will see. To finalize this post, I will share a video, and a photo or two from recent.
I hope that you all had a great Christmas and a Great New Year!
This video was from a garage session winter of 2008-2009. I don't remember talking in the camera, haha.
This is Roy, Allie and I's fish! Allie bought him for me for my 18th birthday, so he is almost a year old! We decided to upgrade his bowl, to something a bit more classy!
This is a photo my buddy David edited with photo shop. I found this on my computer, haha. So awesome.
And lastly, this is a photo my best friend Andrew Murphy took of me at Cream City Skate park. This is my favorite photo. He has gotten so good!! That's a nose grinder.
